Summer is fast approaching in Australia, and we all know how much Aussies love a good summer, so their's some essentials that every girl needs to get through. whether you're travelling from overseas or whether you're a local, you're going to want to have these 3 things to get through safely:

1: More than one pair of cosies (bikini's).

Australia is famous for it's scorching sun and it's brilliant beaches. During summer it's also daylight savings which means longer days. The sun doesn't set till about 7:30pm or 8pm at night so as soon as you clock off at work you can be straight off to the beach. Weekends are also, most of the times, spent at the beach with friends and a barbecue. So if you only own 1 pair of swimmers, you're gonna have to go out and buy a few more. 1 simply won't get you through the 4 months of heat we get.

2: Sunscreen

As much as we love our summers here in Australia, we're also the country with the highest rate of skin cancer. If you've never been to Australia before, you'll probably never experienced the burn of the sun like we get here. Australia is directly underneath the ozone layer so the sun is known to burn even in winter. If you aren't used to using sunscreen where you're from, this is a must whilst your visiting.

3: Bikini Trimmer

As funny as it sounds, every girl is going to need one of these. During summer we're always at the beach in our cosies, which means when we walk off for lunch, you'll see a lot of us Aussie girls going for a walk to a cafe in our cosies too. Get your hands on a good bikini trimmer before you make your trip.

Let me start by saying I truly believe someone's looks shouldn't matter. Everyone is different, we as humans come in all different shapes and sizes. A guy's physical appearance doesn't determine what he's like inside, your can find the most good looking guys with an unattractive personality, likewise you can find a physically unattractive guy with a great personality you get on with perfectly. To me, attractiveness is more then just looks. Looks can be traded of for more 'personality points', but not everyone feels them same. I've never wondered how to get a boyfriend or where to meet guys because nice guys are all around us. Some girls just don't see it because these guys may not look exactly how they want.

If you're like me then, what happens if you end up with a boyfriend that your friends would deems as unattractive? Let me tell you now, initially going out with a guy you know your friends won't like takes a lot of courage. They'll probably question why you're going out with him, and may even try and tease you because of it. I would advise to stop them in their tracks and have a talk with them. Explain that there's more then a physical attraction there, and that you know him enough to know he's a nice guy. A lot of the times it just takes a bit of understanding, if they can see you're serious about going out with this guy their attitude towards him might change. Who knows, they may actually like him when they get talking to him more and see that he is good for you.

At the end of the day, what matters is that you're happy. If your friends or other people can't be happy that you've found someone you like, maybe you should rethink your friendships.
